Life Update: The US of A

It has been a while since I uploaded a serious post, tackling the nitty-gritty of what is happening in our sporting world or even just our world in general. Much of this has been due to the fact of how busy our lives can become, specifically when you have been accepted to study abroad in your favourite place in the whole world.

Yep, that has happened for me!

In August 2017, I will leave for the greatest adventure of my life - seven months in the United States of America studying at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. This opportunity has been something that I have aspired to achieve for as long as I can remember, probably starting in 2010 when I was first introduced to the history of the Civil War. Since then, I have dreamed about living and studying in the US, and now the dream has finally come true.

The University of North Carolina is not only America's oldest public university, but a top ten journalism school, throughout the entire country. The rich history that the university has to offer is phenomenal, regardless of the extra diverse cultural history that the state has on offer, from the native American history, to the Civil War and even the African-American 'Black Rights Movement' history.

Not to mention the rich sporting history that the university has on offer. The alma mater of the greatest basketballer of all time, Michael Jordan, the Tar Heels as they are commonly known, recently went on to win the NCAA Division 1 Basketball Championships. A competition which is almost as big as winning the NBA.

So as I wait for the next five months to hurry by, the seven months after that are going to create some of the greatest and long lasting memories of my life, and I am beyond excited to take on the opportunities and adventures that are coming my way.
